London: Saudi Professional League’s Al-Shabab has signed Brazilian striker Jonatas Belusso on a one-year contract, with the option of a 12-month extension at the end of the forthcoming 2017-18 season.
The 29-year-old forward has had experience in Asian football having played for South Korean clubs Gangwon FC, where he netted 15 goals in 31 appearances, and Seoul E-Land 2016 where he scored four goals in 17 appearances.

United Arab Emirates’ Al Jazira have announced the signing of Lassana Diarra from France’s Ligue 1 Olympique de Marseille. The former Chelsea, Arsenal, and Real Madrid midfielder also wears the national outfit. Al Jazira secured their second UAE Pro League title, and Diarra will look to play alongside Ahmed Khalil and Sardor Rashidov who were also recently signed.

Ali Al Habsi has transferred to Saudi Arabia’s Al Hilal on a three-year contract from Reading FC ahead of the 2017 AFC Champions League quarter-finals. The Omani goalkeeper began his club career with Al Mudhaibi Club in 1998 before moving to Al Nasr SC in 2002. The 35-year old then moved to Norway to play for Lyn Football on a three-year contract, before playing with England’s Bolton Wanderers FC, Wigan Athletic FC and eventually to Reading in 2015. Al Hilal are scheduled to face Al Ain of the United Arab Emirates in the 2017 AFC Champions League first leg quarter-finals on August 21.

Former Australian international Richard Garcia has been appointed as Perth Glory FC’s assistant coach. The 35-year-old has vast experience playing for England’s West Ham United in 1999, Colchester United and Hull City, before returning to Australia’s A-League with Melbourne City and Sydney FC. After a short stint with Minnesota United FC in the United States of America in 2014, Garcia then played 58 games for Glory over three seasons.

Ahmed Khalil has signed with Al Jazira of the United Arab Emirates after 11 years with Dubai’s Al Ahli. The 26-year-old had been with the UAE national teams since 2004 - starting in the U-17 side, before progressing to the senior team where he featured in the latest FIFA World Cup Asian qualifier match against Thailand in June. Despite Al Ahli’s loss to Guangzhou Evergrande in the 2015 AFC Champions League final, Khalil’s performance throughout the year, including the 2015 AFC Asian Cup, earned him the AFC Player of the Year award.

The Abu Dhabi-based club have also signed Sardor Rashidov from El Jaish. The Uzbek forward started his professional career with Sogdiana Jizzakh, before moving to FC Bunyodkor where he assisted the club to three Uzbek League titles in 2010, 2011 and 2013. Al Jazira claimed their second UAE Pro League title since 2010, and will look to defend their crown with the help of Khalil and Rashidov.

Japanese winger Keisuke Honda has completed his move to Mexico’s Club Pachuca from AC Milan. The 31-year-old winger first wore the Samurai Blue outfit in 2005 for the U-20 team, before progressing to the senior team, where he featured in the recent FIFA World Cup Russia 2018 Asian qualifier match against Iraq in June. Honda was named the 2011 AFC Asian Cup Most Valuable Player after Japan lifted their fourth continental title.

Cameroon international Benjamin Moukandjo has transferred to China’s Jiangsu FC. After an impressive two-year stint with FC Lorient of France, the 28-year-old forward will work with manager Fabio Capello as the Nanjing-based club battles against relegation after registering one win, seven draws and eight losses. Moukandjo also played an integral part in leading Cameroon in the recent FIFA Confederations Cup Russia 2017.

Australia’s Nathan Burns has joined Sanfrecce Hiroshima from FC Tokyo. The 29-year-old winger began his club career with Adelaide United in 2006, before signing a four-year contract with Greece’s AEK Athens. After a series of transfers and loans to Kerkyra, Incheon United and Newcastle Jets, Burns then landed in Japan’s J1 League. The Australian international will have no trouble assimilating to Sanfrecce after his two-year stint with FC Tokyo. Burns has also been donning the Australian jersey since 2004 with the U-17 national team, then towards the senior teams and featured in the match against Thailand last November.

JSW Bengaluru FC have signed Dimas Delgado (pictured right) ahead of the AFC Cup Inter-Zone Semi-final against DPR Korea’s 4.25 SC . The Spaniard spent two seasons with Western Sydney Wanderers in the A-League and netted six goals in 58 appearances, as well as appearing in the 2017 AFC Champions League group stages. Delgado will look forward to playing alongside Sunil Chhetri as they prepare to face 4.25 SC on August 23.

Former Aston Villa midfielder Chris Herd signs with Australia Western Sydney Wanderers for two seasons. The Australian international has spent most of his club career in England, before returning home in 2016 for a short spell with Perth Glory. The Wanderers finished sixth in the A-League in the 2016/17 season, and the next season is set to begin on October 6. 

Matias Britos has completed his move to Saudi Arabia’s Al Hilal ahead of their 2017 AFC Champions League quarter-finals match against Al Ain. The 28-year-old Uruguayan began his professional career with Atenas, before transferring to Juventud, Rampla Juniors and Defensor Sporting. The striker then moved to Mexico to join Leon and Club Universidad Nacional in the Liga MX. Al Hilal will face Al Ain for the AFC Champions League quarter-finals on August 21.

China’s Guangzhou Evergrande have re-signed the club’s leading scorer Muriqui .
The 31-year-old Brazilian played for Guangzhou from 2010 to 2014 before moving to Qatar’s Al Sadd, FC Tokyo in Japan and Vasco da Gama of Brazil. The winger will look to bolster Luiz Felipe Scolari’s side, who currently top the Chinese Super League standings ahead of the first leg of their 2017 AFC Champions League quarter-final against Shanghai SIPG on August 22.

Takuma Abe has transferred to Korea Republic’s Ulsan Hyundai from FC Tokyo. Abe began his professional career at Tokyo Verdy in 2010, before moving to the Bundesliga’s VfR Aalen. The 29-year-old striker then returned to Japan to play for a short stint with Ventforet Kofu. Two-time K League Classic champions Ulsan are currently third in the domestic standings, six points behind Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors.

Saudi Arabia's Al Nassr have signed one-time AFC Champions League winner Leonardo and Argentina international Cristian Guanca. Leonardo, who won Asia's premier club competition in 2016 whilst with Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors, joins the Jeddah-based club from UAE title winners Al Jazira, while Guanca - an attacking midfielder - arrives from Argentina's Colon.

COACH UPDATE: Newly promoted Qatar Stars League side Qatar SC have named the experienced Argentine Gabriel Calderon as their new head coach. Calderon, who guided Saudi Arabia's Al Ittihad to an AFC Champions League runners-up spot in 2009, has joined on a two-year deal.

Asamoah Gyan has left Chinese Super League outfit Shanghai SIPG to join Kayserispor in Turkey. The 31-year-old Ghana captain, who was named AFC Foreign Player of the Year in 2014, had spent last season on loan at Al Ahli in the United Arab Emirates.

Korea Republic's Gangwon FC have signed defensive midfielder Han Kook-young from Qatari side Al Gharafa SC, details of the 27-year-old's move to the K League Classic club were not revealed however. Han, who has appeared 41 times for Korea Republic, began life as a preofessional in Japan with Shonan Bellmare in 2010, before going on to play for Kashiwa Reysol and Qatar SC. He joined Al Gharafa last year.

Northern Ireland international Niall McGinn has joined K League Classic side Gwangju FC from Scotland's Aberdeen. The 29-year-old arrives in Asia with Gwangju curently bottom of the Korea Republic top-flight standings.

China international Zhang Yuning has signed for English Premier League side West Bromwich Albion, although he has immediately been loaned out to Bundesliga side Werder Bremen for two years. The talented 20-year-old striker is no stranger to Europe however, having been with Dutch side Vitesse since 2015.

Recently crowned UAE Pro League champions Al Jazira have added Brazilian striker Romarinho to their ranks ahead of the new domestic season. The 26-year-old joins as a free agent from Qatari side El Jaish where he scored 40 league goals in 72 appearances.

COACH UPDATE: Former Islamic Republic of Iran international star Ali Karimi has been named as the new head coach of Naft Tehran. The 38-year-old, who has signed a one-year deal, replaces Ali Daei in the Naft Tehran hotseat.

Australia international Aaron Mooy has completed his permanent move to English Premier League newcomers Huddersfield Town from Manchester City. The Socceroos star has penned a three-year deal after impressing during his new club’s promotion campaign last season.

COACH UPDATE: Former Georgia international Shota Arveladze has been named as the new head coach of Uzbekistan side Pakhtakor. The 44-year-old was previously in charge of Maccabi Tel Aviv in Israel.

Sweden international striker Marcus Berg has joined Al Ain of the United Arab Emirates from Pananthinaikos. 
The 30-year-old, who has signed a two-year deal, is now set to play alongside Omar Abdulrahman, Yousef Ahmed and Tsukasa Shiotani - another recent signing - when the Emirati side face Saudi Arabia's Al Hilal in the first leg of the 2017 AFC Champions League quarter-finals on August 21. 

Goalkeeper Danny Vukovic has signed a two-year deal with Belgium's KRC Genk. The 32-year-old Australia international leaves Sydney FC after winning the 2016-17 Grand Final, the Premiers’ Plate and being named Goalkeeper of the Year. 

Danish top-flight side AC Horsens have signed Phillippines international Daisuke Sato. The 22-year-old left-back was previously with CSM Politehnica Iași in Romania.

Khaled Shafiei is set to become the first Iranian to appear in the K League after signing a deal with FC Seoul. The 30-year-old defender joins the K League Classic side from Tractorsazi.

June 24
COACH UPDATE: Miguel Rodrigo has joined Vietnam's national futsal team as head coach, after a successful one-year stint with Thailand and seven years with Japan. The Spaniard recently guided Thailand to third place in the inaugural AFC U-20 Futsal Championship Thailand 2017, earlier in May.

Brazilian Marcelo has left Korea Republic's Jeju United to join Japanese top-flight side Omiya Ardija. The 32-year-old was a key figure in Jeju's run to this season's AFC Champions League Round of 16.

Also in Korea Republic, defender Jung Seung-hyun has left Ulsan Hyundai to sign for Sagan Tosu in Japan.

Gamba Osaka star Ritsu Doan has agreed a season-long loan move to Holland’s FC Groningen, the J.League side has announced.

Syria international Omar Khribin has signed a four-year deal with Saudi Arabia giants and AFC Champions League quarter-finalists Al Hilal. Khribin joins from Al Dhafra after being on loan at Al Hilal since the start of the year.

COACH UPDATE: Thailand's former national coach Kiatisuk Senamuang has been named head coach of Thai League (T1) side Port FC. The 43-year-old stepped down from his role just days after his country’s bid to qualify for the 2018 FIFA World Cup came to an end in March.

Korea Republic midfielder and AFC Champions League winner Kim Bo-kyung has joined Japan’s Kashiwa Reysol from Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors. 

Thailand’s Chanathip Songkrasin has begun his 18-month loan deal to Japan’s Consadole Sapporo from Muangthong United.

COACH UPDATE: Renowned former Ukraine international Sergei Rebrov has been appointed head coach of AFC Champions League quarter-finalists Al Ahli.

Australia international Tommy Oar, has sealed a move from A-League side Brisbane Roar to Cypriot top-flight outfit APOEL, it has been announced. The 25-year-old midfielder, an AFC Asian Cup winner with Australia in 2015, is no stranger to Europe however, having previously played for FC Utrecht in the Netherlands and Ipswich Town in England.

COACH UPDATE: Portuguese tactician Ulisses Morais has replaced Benjamin Mora as the head coach of Malaysian powerhouse and 2015 AFC Cup champions Johor Darul Ta’zim.

Striker Hwang Ui-jo has sealed a move from Korea Republic’s Seongnam FC to Gamba Osaka in Japan, it has been announced. The 24-year-old will join the J.League outfit on a two-year deal.

June 19
Thailand star Charyl Chappuis has officially joined Muangthong United from Suphanburi. The talented playmaker joins fellow new arrivals Siroch Chatthong (from Ubon UMT United), forward Leandro Assumpcao (Si Sa Ket), midfielder Prakit Deeprom (Chonburi) and midfielder Totsawat Limwannasatien (Army) at the club.

COACH UPDATE: In Australia, Englishman Warren Joyce has been named as the new head coach of Melbourne City. The 52-year-old has previous managerial experience with Hull City, Royal Antwerp and - most recently - Wigan Athletic. He also oversaw Manchester United's reserve side between 2010 and 2016.

Melbourne City have signed former Adelaide United goalkeeper Eugene Galekovic on a two-year deal. The 36-year-old made 238 appearances for Adelaide and was the club's longest-serving player.

United Arab Emirates giants Al Ain have signed Tsukasa Shiotani from Japan’s Sanfrecce Hiroshima ahead of the 2017 AFC Champions League quarter-finals.
