New Delhi: A team from the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) is currently on a four-day visit to the All India Football Federation (AIFF) to help further develop futsal in the country.

The team was welcomed by Kushal Das, the General Secretary of AIFF.

“AIFF is willing to work closely with the AFC Futsal & Beach Soccer Development Team towards the development of futsal in this country as it is one of the development aspects of football.

"I would like to thank the AFC for being here to assist AIFF create a futsal development programme and competitions," said Das. 

Ali Targholizadeh, the Head of the AFC Futsal & Beach Soccer Development, is leading the AFC team. 

"Futsal is a developing tool for football. This is the key reason for the purpose and objective of this visit.

"The AFC feels strongly that India has great potential to prevail in the south region,” said Targholizadeh, who thanked the AIFF for the commitment shown and cooperation extended. 

Also present at the launch were Savio Medeira, the AIFF technical director, coaches, referees and media representatives.
